Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Raleigh will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in North Carolina usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Sonya provided excellent customer service. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure all of my questions were answered. Her positive attitude and willingness to help made for a great experience. I would definitely come back as my bowl was also delicious and would love to try a smoothie next!

First time at playa bowls and it feels like a beach should be around the corner! Jennifer, the manager, let my sister and I try all of the bases until we went with the electric mermaid bowl with half mango base, 10/10. My sister wanted me to add that it was βso yummy so goodβ haha, we will be back. βοΈ π

I love playa bowls but this location can be very hit or miss. I'd recommend coming during a weekday and avoid the weekends since they usually get busy and the wait times are a lot longer. I went on a Sunday and the store was a bit loud, customer service was just meh and there were a lot of people waiting. My bowl was also not filled as much as the other times I've went to this location and another location. Also don't pay with cash unless you have exact change, the employee didn't let me know they didn't have change until after I already paid so I didn't get the exact change back and ended up paying a bit more. Not a huge deal but just fyi lol. I guess it depends on who is working but I've gotten great service and a full bowl one time and very slow service and a very small bowl another time. However I love the store aesthetic and lighting, and theres lots of good seating options, the music is also usually very upbeat and good. Overall still very tasty bowls and a good study/hangout spot, just go during the week!

2 months ago I got introduced to Playa Bowls by my son. I love smoothies and have heard about Acai bowls but never tried one. I entered the restaurant prepared to order a smoothie but when I saw the menu offerings of the many acai bowls I just had to try one. I decided on the tropical acai bowl and added blueberries to it. I took my first bite and was hooked. The taste was amazing and I found myself after eating all of it full but still wanting more. Some weeks later we went back, me with the intention of trying another type of acai bowl but I couldn't resist getting the tropical version again. It was equally as delicious. Other members of my family have tried the Pura Vida acai bowl, Aloha smoothie, Pink Pataya smoothie, Strawberry Banana smoothie and Green smoothie. Everyone loved their food and definitely want to keep going back. I love the decor of the restaurant in making you feel like you are right at the beach or in a beach town. If you have a Playa Bowls in your town I highly recommend checking them out. You'll be so glad you did!
